Novak Djokovic called arrogant
This is another underreported story that developed during the Australian Open - quite a few commentators took issue with the interview responses made by Novak Djokovic stating that he was proud of himself. Mary Carillo (with ESPN2’s broadcast) outright called him arrogant. I think we’ll see this pop up more and more in television broadcasts…
While I myself don’t think arrogant is the word to describe Novak, I can see how years and years of quiet Federer domination has the old guard a bit rankled.
I may be saying the same thing about Novak by the end of this year, but for now, I think tennis needs a change.
